Buccaneer Diving Zanzibar is located in Paje on the wonderful South East coast of Zanzibar Island. Away from the overcrowded beaches of Kiwengwa, Nungwi, and Kendwa, Paje is renown for its stunning beaches, unspoilt village life, small sized guesthouses and lodges. The stretch reaching from kizimkazi (south point of island, famous for dolphin spotting) through jambiani, paje, bwejuu, dongwe to michamvi (which is situated on the eastern tip of chwaka bay), is often refered to as the secret sea.

They all send a siren call to scuba divers and mark the Red Sea as a world-class scuba diving destination. No matter how impressive the above-water attractions, the real jewel in the Egyptian crown has to be the simply staggering diving in the Red Sea.

Protea Banks

Protea Banks is situated 7.5km out to sea from Shelly Beach. The reef lies at a depth of between 27 and 40 meters. It is about 6km long and 800m wide. Essentially a fossilised sandbank which comes up from 60m. Generations of local fisherman have made a living at Protea, whilst Scuba Divers have come face to face with Sharks and Game Fish since the early 1990's. Protea Banks is one of the richest Tuna grounds in the world which explains why it is so strongly frequented by Zambezi Sharks

Ponta do Ouro

Ponta do Ouro

You can dive all these sites form Ponta Do Ouro & Ponta Malangane and all the dive charters will take you there. The dive sites already discovered cater for all dive certification levels and vary in depth from 10 meters to 40 meters. The water temperature ranges between 20-26 degrees Celsius. Diving is very popular here between the months of October to April but that doesn’t mean that the winter months aren’t just as good.

Sporting five training platforms, it is the perfect place for instruction to beginners as well as for recreational dives at all levels. All training from One Star/Open Water Diver to Instructor Training can be done here... The depth of our lake is 33m and the viz, which can reach 10m, is good. Numerous Black Bass and various species of Kurper are found in the shallows, while a bus, aeroplane, Puma hellicopter, several yachts and many more.

Wondergat

Wondergat

Advanced Deep Dive site with caves. Approximately 60km from Lichtenburg and 30km from Mafikeng in the North West Province at an altitude of approximately 1440m above sea level, one will find an unbelievable natural dolomite sinkhole called Wondergat. Wondergat is the deepest natural hole in the interior of South Africa, and is used for advanced scuba diving as well as a training ground for instructors and technical divers.
